dnsvservername<String>Read-writeName of a DNS virtual server. Overrides any IP address-based name servers configured on the NetScaler appliance.

local<Boolean>Read-writeMark the IP address as one that belongs to a local recursive DNS server on the NetScaler appliance. The appliance recursively resolves queries received on an IP address that is marked as being local. For recursive resolution to work, the global DNS parameter, Recursion, must also be set.

If no name server is marked as being local, the appliance functions as a stub resolver and load balances the name servers.
state<String>Read-writeAdministrative state of the name server.
Default value: ENABLED
Possible values = ENABLED, DISABLED
type<String>Read-writeProtocol used by the name server. UDP_TCP is not valid if the name server is a DNS virtual server configured on the appliance.
Default value: UDP
Possible values = UDP, TCP, UDP_TCP
dnsprofilename<String>Read-writeName of the DNS profile to be associated with the name server.
Minimum length = 1
servicename<String>Read-onlyThe name of the dns vserver.
port<Integer>Read-onlyPort of the service.

Some options that you can use for each operations:

  • Getting warnings in response:NITRO allows you to get warnings in an operation by specifying the "warning" query parameter as "yes". For example, to get warnings while connecting to the NetScaler appliance, the URL is as follows:

    http://<netscaler-ip-address>/nitro/v1/config/login?warning=yes

    If any, the warnings are displayed in the response payload with the HTTP code "209 X-NITRO-WARNING".

  • Authenticated access for individual NITRO operations:NITRO allows you to logon to the NetScaler appliance to perform individual operations. You can use this option instead of creating a NITRO session (using the login object) and then using that session to perform all operations,

    To do this, you must specify the username and password in the request header of the NITRO request as follows:

    X-NITRO-USER:<username>

    X-NITRO-PASS:<password>

    Note:In such cases, make sure that the request header DOES not include the following:

    Cookie:NITRO_AUTH_TOKEN=<tokenvalue>
