Citrix Virtual Channel SDK for Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS
The Citrix Virtual Channel Software Development Kit (VC SDK) supports writing server-side applications and client-side drivers for more virtual channels using the ICA protocol. The server-side virtual channel applications are on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops server. This Virtual Channel SDK supports writing new virtual channels for Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS 1808 and later.
The Virtual Channel SDK provides:
-
An easy interface that can be used with the virtual channels in the Citrix Server API SDK. That is, the WinFrame Application Programming Interface (WFAPI SDK) to create new virtual channels.
-
Working source code for several virtual channel sample programs that demonstrate programming techniques.
-
The Virtual Channel SDK requires the WFAPI SDK to write the server side of the virtual channel.
Features and Use-cases
- Third-party chrome apps embedding Citrix Workspace app via HDX SDK for Chrome, when run in kiosk mode do not receive Citrix Workspace app policies set in the Google Admin console. Virtual Channel SDK overcomes this limitation
- HDX SDK and Virtual Channel SDK side-by-side in a single chrome app or separate apps (supported in both public session and kiosk mode)
